Wade Shimer, Associate

Wade Shimer

Mr. Shimer is a graduate of University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana in Champaign, Illinois and the Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale, Illinois. He was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in November of 2008 and began practicing alongside Mr. Wunderlich in March of 2009.

During his time at Southern Illinois School of Law, Mr. Shimer served as the Chief Justice of the school’s prestigious Appellate Court Team. During the 2008 American Bar Association’s Appellate Moot Court competition, Mr. Shimer earned the Second Best Oralist award, leading his team to a fifth place finish at the Washington D.C. regional competition.

Mr. Shimer graduated from the University of Illinois in 2005, majoring in Political Science, also receiving a minor in Philosophy. Mr. Shimer was highly successful at the University and performed many extracurricular activities, including Chairman for the Orange Krush, a charitable organization composed of more than 1,200 members.

In 2007, Mr. Shimer worked for Ice Miller Sports Services, an Indianapolis based sports agency. Under the agent Andrew “Buddy” Baker, Mr. Shimer assisted negotiations of contracts of several professional athletes, including Carl Landry of the Houston Rockets and Korey Hall of the Green Bay Packers.

Mr. Shimer is currently handling insurance defense matters and subrogation claims alongside Mr. Wunderlich. Mr. Shimer has experience in declaratory judgment actions, probate resolution, arbitration, and trial work.
